Won't my audience feel stalked?
Only if the agency doesn't cap frequency. We hold retargeting impressions to 3–5 per person per week per audience, rotate creative every 30 days, and exclude converted users inside 24 hours. Done right, retargeting feels like a timely reminder — not a haunting.
How small can an audience be to work?
Meta requires 1,000 for custom audiences. In practice, retargeting starts delivering below 5,000 but doesn't stabilize until 10–15,000. Below that we focus on top-of-funnel lookalikes from your seed list while the pixel fills up.
What platforms do you retarget on?
Primary: Meta (FB/IG), Google Display/YouTube, TikTok. Secondary: LinkedIn (B2B), Pinterest (e-commerce visual verticals). We pick based on where your audience actually spends time — usually Meta + YouTube for consumer services, LinkedIn + Google for B2B.
How does this work after iOS privacy updates?
CAPI + Enhanced Conversions replace what the pixel used to do. We hash PII, send server-side events, and dedupe against the pixel. Measured coverage is typically 85–95% of pre-iOS-14 baseline — not perfect, but enough for the algorithm to optimize effectively.
Can I run this without cold ads running first?
Only if you already have organic traffic filling the top of the funnel — SEO, content, existing ad platforms you built elsewhere. Otherwise you'll burn through your audience in 30 days and hit a wall. Best paired with Search Ads or Facebook Ads cold campaigns feeding the top.
What's the minimum budget to make this work?
$1,500/mo ads spend to hit statistical significance on 2–3 audiences. Below that, the audiences don't populate fast enough for the platform to optimize. Above $5K, we expand to the full 15–30 audience stack.
